Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium -- “Non-profit health organization, owned and controlled by Alaska Native tribal governments and their regional health organizations, providing comprehensive statewide Native health services.”

 

American Indian Health -- Sponsored by the National Library of Medicine, this site provides health and medical resources including policies, consumer health information, and research. Includes links to documents, databases, and other resources.

 

American Indian Disability Technical Assistance Center (AIDTAC)

 

Association of American Indian Physicians -- AAIP's mission is to pursue excellence in Native American health care by promoting education in the medical disciplines, honoring traditional healing practices and restoring the balance of mind, body, and spirit.
 
Association of Native American Medical Students -- ANAMS is a student organization representing Native American graduate health professions students throughout North America. Membership comprises Native American students enrolled in medical school or in the allied health professions of dentistry, veterinary medicine, optometry, podiatry, and pharmacy.

Indian Health Service -- Primary federal health care provider and advocate for American Indians and Alaska Natives who belong to more than 550 federally recognized tribes in 35 states. Its stated goal is to ensure the availability of comprehensive, culturally-acceptable personal and public health services.

 

Intertribal Deaf Council (IDC)

 

Minority Women’s Health -- Link to American Indian/ Alaska Native health issues and concerns. Offers information on various diseases, relevant publications, and helpful resources.

 

NMED, Indians into Medicine --An education program to assist Indigenous students in preparing for health careers. Located at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine & Health Sciences in Grand Forks.

 

National Council of Urban Indian Health -- Supports and develops quality accessible healthcare programs for all American Indian and Alaska Natives living in urban communities through advocacy, training, education and leadership development.

National Indian Council on Aging, Inc. -- Founded in 1976 by members of the National Tribal Chairmen’s Association. Serves as an advocacy group for improved, comprehensive health and social services to American Indian and Alaska Native Elders.

 

National Indian Health Board -- Works to ensure that health care needs of all Tribal Governments are met with broad-based advocacy, cutting edge research, policy analysis, training and technical assistance.

 

National Indian Women’s Health Resource Center -- A national non-profit organization “to assist American Indian and Alaska Native women achieve optimal health and well being throughout their lifetime.” Initially organized as a steering committee for the IHS, its members include health providers, health planners, health administrators, and elected tribal leaders that exhibit a common concern for Indigenous women’s health.

 

Native American Cancer Research -- A community based, American Indian, non-profit resource. We seek to help reduce cancer incidence and mortality in Native Americans.

 

Native American Child Health – Committee within the American Academy of Pediatrics. Includes links to resources and publications.

 

Native American Diabetes Project --Goal is to work with Native American communities to help people eat healthy foods and increase exercise.
